π³ #Repost @cnn ・・・ A lost 13th-century masterpiece that had been hanging in an elderly French woman’s kitchen was auctioned on Sunday in France for $26.8 million. The unsuspecting owner kept the Cimabue piece, titled “Christ Mocked,” above a hot plate used for cooking food, according to AFP. One artist expert said the piece, which was probably part of a triptych made in 1280, is the first ever Cimabue painting to be auctioned. (πΈ: Philipe Lopez/AFP/Getty Images)
