🎶 ❤️ #Repost @nmaahc ・・・ #OnThisDay, Diana Ross was born in Detroit, Michigan. Diana Ross is a living legend whose musical career has spanned over five decades. She got her start singing as a teenager with her friends in the trailblazing trio The Supremes. By 1965, The Supremes were the number one female group in the country. They dominated the pop charts, bridging the genres of pop and rhythm and blues in their interpretations of some of Motown’s greatest hits. Their cool elegance, stylish dress, and impeccable manners challenged stereotypes about black femininity. Ross eventually launched her solo career and charted with pop hits like “Ain’t no Mountain High enough,” “Love Hangover,” and “Endless Love.” In addition to music, Ross also pioneered an acting career starring in films such as “Mahogany,” “Lady Sings the Blues” and “The Wiz.” #HiddenHerStory #APeoplesJourney ⠀ ⠀ 📸 Courtesy Creative Commons
